So I've wanted to do this for a while, for thou's of you who don't know, I'm a big fan of James Bond, I love the movies and love seeing how it has changed with each passing decade and each passing actor.

Now let me get this out of the way now, I'm not basing this on how well the films were received or how well they did at the box office or anything like that. I'm just looking at the actor, and how believable they are in the role of 007. I know this seems obvious but i swear I've read ratings where people seem to base how good each actor was based on good their movies were. How good the movie is and how well the actor does in his or her role is two completely different subjects, and the James Bond series has a perfectly good example of this with George Lazenby, he did one Bond film, and while that Bond film is pretty god damn good, Lazenby's acting left a lot to be desired, as most put it, he was a wooden actor. They even dub over his voice in a few scenes and he didn't try to bring anything new to the role. I'm going to stop here before i break out into some long ramble about how bad of a choice it was to hire a 29 year old model with no acting experience to play James Bond.

Also i do want to rank all the Bond movies one day but that is a huge thing to do, not to mention I've only seen most of the Bond movies once, so gonna have to wait on that one.

before I start ranking here is a bit of info on each actor for anyone who doesn't know much about James Bond. I'm not including any unofficial Bond movies, only the one's made by Eon. I also get the feeling that this (and if i ever do a rating of all the Bond movies) will piss off a lot of hardcore Bond fans because i have really different liking's from most of the fans it seems.

Sean Connery: first actor to play James Bond, played the role from 1962 to 1967 and returned to do one more in 1971, he did a total of six Bond movies. He was 32 years old at the release of his first film and 41 at the release of his finale film.
George Lazenby: second actor to play James Bond, he only did one Bond film which released in 1969. He was 30 at release.
Roger Moore: third actor to play James Bond, he did seven Bond movies between 1973 and 1985. He was 45 years old when he was brought in to play Bond and 58 when he retired from the role.
Timothy Dalton: forth actor to play James Bond. He did two movies which the first released in 1987 and the second in 1989. He was 41 at the release of the first and 43 and the release of the second.
Pierce Brosnan: fifth actor to play James Bond. He played Bond 4 times between the years of 1995 and 2002. 42 at the release of his first film and 49 and the release of his last film.
Daniel Craig: sixth actor to play James Bond and our current actor as Bond at the time of writing this. He has done 4 movies so far but it looks like he'll be back for a fifth. 38 at the release of his first Bond movie in 2006 and 47 at the release of Spectre in 2015.

P.S. I'm gonna say what Bond movie is my fave from each actor.

Ok lets start this finally, in at number six!
George Lazenby

I'm sure most of you saw this coming, really it's a no brainer. He had no acting experience at all and really they choose him because he was a model and he showed "toughness" when he punched a stunt man, like really? Okay sure he did a some commercials but acting and advertising a product are two separate things. Anyway, I agree with what most people say, he was a wooden actor that didn't know what he wanted to do with the role. Personally i don't even think he looks that great, I think all the actors look better then him. His one Bond movie is On her majesty's secret service (1969) which like i said earlier is a great Bond film but George was just terrible. I think if the movie had Sean Connery or even Roger Moore, it could have much better and i think it would be much higher on people's lists, it would be much higher on mine for sure. Also because he only has one movie i think it's clear what one is my favorite.

Number five
Daniel Craig
http://www.007.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/9.jpg
Oh I'm gonna get so much hate for this, but this is more of a personal preference then anything. I just like the tall dark appearance of the older James Bond actors then the new blond hair Daniel Craig, although he does look better then Lazenby. Let me say this now, he is a great actor and i love his Bond movie Skyfall, i think it's one of the best Bond movies ever, but i personally would have been much happier with a 58 year old Brosnan running around in the movie then Craig. Craig was our new face for Bond when the series was finally rebooted for the modern era in 2006. He brings a grittiness, and a more realistic Bond to the screen but is not the first to do so. He's good as Bond and he knows what he wants to do with the role and he is believable as Bond, but he's not my type of Bond. His movies are Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), and Spectre (2015). Skyfall is my fave from the Craig era so far.

Number four
Sean Connery
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/jamesbond/images/9/99/007Connery.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151124185842
Again I'm sure this will piss of a lot of people as he is constantly at first or second on most lists, usually battling over Danial Craig but not here. The biggest thing here is that he's the first person to play James Bond and to many you can't beat the original, and for the 60's i don't think there was a better choice then Sean Connery. But that doesn't change the fact that i think he could of done better, yes he set the standards for other actors to follow but i think he relies a little to much on his looks sometimes in the movies, i know that sounds really stupid but that's just how i feel, maybe it wasn't his fault but i would have liked more clever lines at times. The other thing is that he doesn't really use that awesome accent of his during his Bond career. He is believable as Bond and he is on the rough side which is good. His Bond movies are Dr.No (1962), From Russia with love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You only live twice (1967), and Diamonds are forever (1971). My favorite right now is Goldfinger, but I've watched each of the Connery movies only once so this may change.

Number three
Timothy Dalton
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/jamesbond/images/c/cf/Timothy-dalton-james-bond-3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20121011203412
Despite only doing two films i have grown to really appreciate him as Bond. For thou's of you who have the read the books, he is usually said to have best represented the way Ian Fleming met Bond to be. Now even though he only did two, it was very clear what he wanted to do with the role, make it a more dark and serious. The series would return to this style with Craig although i would say it's not as dark. However i think the fact that he only did two also kind of hurt him, he made it clear what he wanted to do but we never get to see how far he was willing to go or how he would keep it fresh or even if he would change a bit as time went on. At the end of the day he very believable as Bond and had he done more he probably would have been my second favorite Bond actor. It also helps that he did a lot of his stunts in his movies. Also his time as Bond is know as the Dark era of Bond. His movies are The living daylights (1987) and License to Kill (1989). I like License to Kill more. (His Bond movies have the best names honestly XD )

Number two
Roger Moore
 http://www.celebitchy.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/wenn5029930.jpg
Good old Roger Moore, he holds the record for doing the most Bond movies but he usually gets a lot of hate for his time as Bond, while not at the bottom of the list i don't hear to many good things about him as Bond. I personally don't think he's the most believable person as James Bond but there is something i do enjoy about his time as Bond. He's probably the least rough out of all the Bond's and his movie's are usually explained as being "campy" but i enjoy it. Moore's Bond is for sure the silliest and i think this was to help Bond survive through the 70's as i read that some people thought Bond wouldn't do well during the 70's. This was also done to help him be different from Connery's Bond as well. Moore always has a gadget at the ready and some witty one liners and the thing is, i believe James Bond would have a gadget at the ready, it makes sense to me and part of Bond is having thou's one liners as well, even if there not all that great. Something i don't see people talk a lot about is the fact that Moore kinda changes a bit when you get into his later movies, more so with his 3 movies in the 80's. There are honestly some moments where he gets really serious and there's even a moment in Octopussy that honestly makes me feel sad for James Bond and makes me want to cry a bit. I think that's why i enjoy him as much as i do, as i feel he actually changes because of the things that have happened to him. Another thing is that I find a certain charm with Moore as Bond because he's the oldest actor to play Bond, no other Actor has ever play Bond into there 50's at the time of writing this, so I kinda get that feeling of this is an aging spy who's just trying to stay in the game as long as possible, the only problem is they never play off that in the movies. Just for reference here's a picture of Moore in his first movie, Live and Let Die released in 1973 (46 at release) and A View to a Kill released in 1985. (58 at release)
https://reprog.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/roger_moore_lald.jpeg?w=500
Yes it's the same person. His movies are Live and Let Die (1973) The Man With the Golden Gun (1974) The Spy who Loved Me (1977) Moonraker (1979) For Your Eyes Only (1981) Octopussy (1983) and A View to a Kill (1985) My favorite is is Octopussy.

Number one
Pierce Brosnan
http://celebrityinside.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Pierce-Brosnan-Biography.jpg
I think a lot of people who choose their favorite Bond actor will usually choose who ever they saw first or grew up with as Bond, and I'm no different. I grew up with Brosnan as James Bond and god dammit did he leave quite a impact on the role for me. He's the best looking, and the most believable as Bond to me. While Connery was the most charming/good looking, Moore the most silliest, and Dalton the most Serious, Brosnan combines all of thou's into one Bond and my god i love it. All the faces he makes just makes him even more believable to me. He can be almost be as dark as Dalton, can play of his good looks like Connery and has good one liners like Moore with some of the humor as well. I just can't but think of Brosnan as Bond. Brosnan really reminds that James Bond his human as well, again with all the faces he makes, there's times where i can see him doubting himself, wondering how he can get out of his situation, looking at his surroundings for an answer. No other Bond makes does that, they kinda just let things play out or instantly know what to do, but not Brosnan's Bond, he'll take a punch to the gut for a reason to go down on the ground. You can tell when he's being serious or when he's sad just because of his faces. His movies are Goldeneye (1995) Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) The World is not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002). Not joking here Die Another Day is my favorite of the bunch. Brosnan's second, third and fourth movies are considered to be some of the worst Bond movies ever, and while i personally like the third and forth one a lot, i don't think it's right when people put him low on the list just because he's considered to have some of the worst films. You look at the actor's portrayal of the character and the whole movies as different things.

whew I'm done XD writing long journals like this are fun when it's something I'm passionate about. Anyway please leave a comment, even if you know nothing about James Bond. If you have your own list leave it a comment and if you can name a few reasons why you choose who you choose. Every comment is heavily appreciated, this took me over 3 hours to do.

Chao for now.....

P.S. if got some time i would recommend watching these two videos to learn some more stuff about James Bond and to see how each actor's face changed over time. (keep in mind these videos include some of the unofficial James Bond actors and such)
